With Fortnite's season-ending event set to take place in less than a week the players won't need to wait too long to know what Epic Games will be preparing! Zelda Fan-generated rumors were "Frustrating" To Donkey Kong creators Eric Kozlowsky was hired by Retro Studios, it resulted in reports that the team was working on a new Zelda game.
The artist had previously worked on the PlayStation's Uncharted series, and for some reason, the fans to make a connection. However, Kozlowsky and Retro Studios were actually working on Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze which was released in late 2015. When the game was officially unveiled it was met with a slew of Zelda fans trashed it because they were expecting something else. In a brand new interview with an interview on the Kiwi Talkz podcast, Kozlowsky revealed how that rumor caused frustration for the development team.
"Sometimes it's frustrating since it creates false expectations. And I think that happened when we announced Tropical Freeze. It was like 'they're working on an Zelda game and they're working on an Zelda game' however, they were like 'nope!. We've just announced Tropical Freeze and it looks stunning and beautiful and then people say "oh, this is another Donkey Kong.'
Then you realize that the people are talking about it on Neogaf with d2r items buy, or whatnot, and you're like , 'oh my you know, because everybody thought we were playing something similar to a Zelda game. Then it's like no, it's not what we do.' It's both funny at times. it, sometimes it gets uncomfortable when it lasts a longer," said Kozlowsky.
